Each age group in JACS has a distinct focus:

U7-U10, teach the kids to love the game.

U11-U14, teach the kids to play the game.

1) Recreation Soccer – Run by local governmental Recreation Departments or volunteer AYSO groups. These are great places for kids to learn about soccer and develop a love of the sport. Teams compete with other teams of local players and everybody plays.

2) Select Soccer – Also referred to as House or Travel. Teams are formed through a tryout system. Teams may travel beyond county lines to play other select teams registered in the same league. Coaches at this level and beyond are required to obtain license certificates through the state (MSYSA) and national (USSF) soccer governing bodies. Fun, learning and development of player skills are the focus.

3) Premier Soccer – Teams are formed through a tryout system. Teams may travel around the state to play other Premier club teams.

4) Olympic Development Program (ODP) Soccer – Teams are formed by each state through a tryout camp format. Teams travel to other states within each region to compete with other ODP teams.

5) US Olympic & National Teams – Teams are formed through player evaluation at regional ODP camps. Teams travel around the country and internationally to compete with teams from other countries.
